RPTC 2007 6th Annual Junior Open Tournament

We had a GREAT tournament this year with players all around the world!!  The sky was baby blue to match our new court colors!!  We had junior members participate in the tournament and they all played GREAT!!   Let's thank Barbara Kingston for putting together, once again, a GREAT tournament!!    This site is for our junior members to show off their stuff.  If you have pictures or an article or ANY news regarding a junior member achievement, please email the office an entry to be place on this site.  We all want to know how our juniors are doing in every aspect of their lives and especially their tennis achievements.  Here are some pictures of the 2007 Junior tournament.

We all see the Marvins' out practicing for the next tournament.  There was no exception for the RPTC Junior Open.  Aaron Marvin and his dad came out to compete in the Boys 16 singles and also the Boys14 Doubles!!!  Aaron took the 16 year olds for a couple of rounds before losing to a VERY tough opponent.  Aaron played above his age level and did a GREAT Job!!!!!  Congrats Aaron on your victories in the Boys 16 singles and Boys 14 Doubles!!

The Amyots came out to play!!!  Cameron played the Boys 16 singles, Boys 14 Doubles and the Boys 16 Doubles!!!  Cameron and his dad Denis are RPTC members that compete in Junior tournaments all over the county and they also travel to other districts to compete with other juniors outside the San Diego District!!  Cameron is playing above his age level this year and is doing VERY well.  Cameron made it through a couple of rounds and lost to a GREAT player!!!  He also played the 16 Doubles with Micheal Saria, also a member, and had a GREAT match that was fun to watch!!!  Congrats Cameron on a great tournament!!

Doubles Finalists!!!  Whooo hoooo  Cameron Amyot and Micheal Saria

The Sarias were out to compete this year!!!  Michael played both weekends and he played ALOT!!!!  Micheal competed in the Boys 16 singles and the Boys 16 Doubles (partner Cameron Amyot).  He played and had a GREAT final match on the last Sunday.  That match was a nail biter against Hernandez, the #1 seed!!!  That was a fun match to watch!!!  Boys 16 Doubles was another nail biter as well!!  Congrats Michael on your road to the finals this year.  We all loved to watch you play!!!  Sorry Micheal I didn't get playing pictures as I didn't know you were a member until I took this picture.

Christina is very active in tournament this summer.  She won RPTC's Junior Satellite Girls 14 Division and made it to the Girls 12 Semi finals in RPTC's Junior Open this summer.  She is a hard worker on the court and her Mom is her biggest fan!!!!  Please congradulate Christina for her tournament playing!!!  Congrats Christina!!!

You might notice this terrible duo on the courts almost EVERY DAY!!!  Justin Agpaoa is growing up in the Juniors and has been seen playing in the Open tournaments as well!!  I know Aggie is his BIGGEST Fan on and off the courts!!  Justin, the number 10 seed, battled his way to the round of 16 in a VERY big Boy's 16 draw.

One of our favorite families was spotted at our Junior Open tournament Madeline (Mattie) competed in the Girls 16 Singles and Doubles (parnter Inessa S).  Matte and Inessa made it to the finals and ended up the finalists in a tough battle in the heat!!  Mattie and Inessa could also be found in La Costa as Ball Kids for the Womens Acura Tennis Classic.  Good Job Mattie!!!

Inessa S.  and Mattie right after Mattie fight in Girls 16 singles!!!  Inessa is READY for her fight and win in the Girls 16 singles!!  Inessa and mattie went on to the final of the Girls 16 Doubles.  Congrats Ladies!!!!  Keep up the hard work!!!

Do these two characters look familiar?!!!  Tammy and her daughter Tiarra came out to watch and play in our Junior Open.  Tiarra was the #2 seed in the Girls 12 division!!  Congradulate Tiarra when you see her helping Mom and Dad with the clinics!!!
